  • From the home screen, scroll to the top to access the "Functions" menu.
  • Scroll right to "Settings" and select it by pressing the X button. Choose "Family Management".
  • Select the user you want to set a spending limit for, then select "Applications/Devices/Network Features".
  • Scroll down to "Monthly Spending Limit" and press the X button.
  • Choose a monthly spending limit for this use and press the X button again.



  • From the home screen, scroll to the top to access the "Functions" menu. Scroll right to "Settings" and select it by pressing the X button.
  • Choose "Family Management"..
  • Select the user you want to limit the play time for, then select "Play Time Settings".
  • Choose a time zone for your child.
  • Choose "Play Time Restrictions" and set it to "Restrict."
  • Go to "When Play Time Ends" and choose "Notify only" if you want your child to see a message on the screen when their play time ends. Or choose "Log Out of PS4" for a more strict play time control.
  • In "Duration and Playable Hours", you can choose when to allow your child to use the PS4 and for how long. Check the box next to "By Days of the Week" to schedule different play times for each day of the week.



  • From the home screen, scroll to the top to access the "Functions" menu. Scroll right to "Settings" and select it by pressing the X button.
  • Choose "Family Management"..
  • Select the user you want to restrict communicating with other players for, then select "Applications/Devices/Network Features" under "Parental Controls".
  • Under "Network Features", you can choose if you want the child to communicate with other players on PSN.



From the home screen, scroll to the top to access the "Functions" menu.
  • Scroll right to "Settings" and select it by pressing the X button. Choose "Parental Controls/Family Management".
  • Select "PS4 System Restrictions".
  • Choose "Virtual Parental Controls."
  • Select "Age Level for Games" and then choose the restriction level.
    • The numbers refer to the approximate level of restriction: the lower the number is, the stricter are the restrictions. ESRB ratings icons are displayed for all restriction levels to show what is allowed for each one. Select the restriction level and press X to confirm. The following numbers correspond to ESRB age ratings:
      • Child
      • Teen
